Tyler Joseph Krasowski was born in Minneapolis in 1985, and grew up in Chicagoland. Krasowski attended The University of Montana, where he received a BFA in drawing. Krasowski is an artist with a medieval compulsion for precision. He modestly passes his days meditatively engrossed, gouging away, much like 15th century knuckle draggers in Antwerp. Some days he doesn’t even feel the need to put shoes on. He takes his time and produces relief prints and drawings depicted sharply retaining hypnotic vibration. While his work is convulsive the scenes portrayed remain relatable, championing this uncomfortable problem we know so lovingly as life. When not creating images, his so-called purpose is to locate obsolete neighborhood abstractions, or antiquated rural myths. He also takes cartoon clouds very seriously.
